What's in it for us?

VOTE/COPE has two types of rebates:  "local assistance" and "local educational issues."  Under the "local assistance" program, 20% of the previous year's VOTE/COPE contributions are rebated automatically to all locals contributing $100 or more.

The rebates may be used for support of school budget votes, candidates for local school boards or general internal union political activities.  They are not used to make contributions to or support candidates or activities governed by national, state, or local election law.

VOTE/COPE drives are conducted on a calendar year basis.  Awards, local assistance and local educational issues rebates are determined by contributions received in the previous calendar year.
